Welcome to Tail

Tail is a Solana call tracker and rule-based trading bot for Telegram groups. It credits the first paste of a contract, scores callers on later multiples, and can paper- or live-buy when hit rate clears the bar — funded by creator fees from the Tail pump.fun token.

Tail is not Phanes or Rick. It can sit beside them. Phanes remains the research / leaderboard surface; Tail owns the book, exits, cuts, and fee flywheel.

Add Tail

1. Open @Tailit_bot and add it to your Telegram supergroup.
2. Make Tail a group admin (or at least able to read messages). Tracking is per chat.
3. Paste a Solana mint, a pump.fun link, or a Solana DexScreener link. Tail replies with a scan card and may open a paper buy if the caller qualifies.

Optional head start: in a Phanes group run /elb 1mo, download the .xlsx, and have a Tail admin upload that file into the Tail chat. See Phanes import.

Stay safe

Tail will never:

• Ask for your seed phrase, private keys, or to “connect a wallet” in DMs.
• DM you first asking for funds. Cuts use a payout address you set via /payout in a private chat with the bot.
• Guarantee profits. Paper and live books can lose. This is not financial advice.

Live trading only signs with the wallet you configure on the server (WALLET_SECRET). Group members do not deposit into Tail.

Fee flywheel

One loop funds the book and closes on supply:

1. Launch — Tail token on Pump.fun.
2. Claim fees — creator trading fees are claimed into the Tail treasury (the bank).
3. Buy calls — treasury tops up a lean hot wallet just-in-time, then Tail buys mints that clear the gates.
4. Pay cuts — on winning closes, weighted commissions go to callers (or sit in treasury until they register a payout wallet).
5. Buyback & burn — surplus after cuts buys Tail and burns it.

Buy size already scales with available SOL in the trading wallet (see Bankroll sizing). As fee claims raise the balance, sizes can rise within the same risk rules.

Scoring & buys

First scan owns the call

In each chat, the first person to paste a given mint is credited. Later pastes do not steal the call. Multiples are measured from FDV at that first scan to later ATH FDV (updated from DexScreener, Pump, and Stonk quotes).

Cross-group hit rate

By default Tail collates the same Telegram user’s calls across every Tail chat they appear in. The same mint in two groups counts once (earliest FDV, best ATH). Toggle per chat with /set cross on or /set cross off. /me shows how many chats are in the book.

Warm size (anti fake-import)

Phanes Excel can inflate hit rates. Until a caller has organic (live Tail) resolved calls and a warm window has passed (defaults: organicmin 5, warmdays 2), max buy is capped at warmmax (default 0.08 SOL). After that, normal maxbuy applies.

What counts as a hit

A 5× hit means ATH FDV reached 5× the scan FDV — the same idea as Rick-style call boards. Tail also tracks 2× for a secondary qualify path.

Resolved calls

A call is resolved after resolve hours (default 4h), or sooner if it has already done 2×. Fresh losers are not counted against hit rate yet.

Qualify bar (defaults)

• At least 5 resolved calls in the lookback
• Lookback: last 40 calls and 21 days
• Qualify if 5× hit rate ≥ 15% or 2× hit rate ≥ 40%

Token gates

• FDV inside minfdv–maxfdv (default $6.5K–$2M)
• Liquidity ≥ minliq only when FDV is above the low-liq band (~$50k). Below that (incl. Jupiter-only microcaps with $0 reported liq) the floor is skipped; bonding curves always skip it
• Safety: freeze / honeypot checks; LP locked or burned unless still on a known bonding curve (Pump, LaunchLab, Meteora DBC, …)

Runner vs grinder

• Runner — clears the 5× bar → full size path, normal TP / trail
• Grinder — qualifies on 2× only → half size (grinderSizeScale), banks most near ~2.2×, trails the rest

Whitelist

Usernames in BUY_WHITELIST (env) skip the hit-rate gate but still respect FDV, safety, pause, and bankroll caps.

Exits & risk

Open positions are managed on a fast poll loop. Default exit stack:

• Stop — e.g. 45% drawdown from entry (hard floor)
• Early trail — after ~1.4× from entry, trail ~22% off peak so winners don’t need to reach 2× before protection kicks in
• Take-profit ladder — e.g. sell 40% at 2×, 30% at 4×
• Volume fade — if short-window volume dies vs entry burst after a few minutes
• Momentum stall — no new peak for N minutes and drawdown from peak (covers the “never made 2×” grind)
• Max hold — hard time cap (default 48h)
• Time stop — optional; off by default

Failed live sells are retried; errors post in the chat. Tune with /set trailat 1.4 and /set trail 22.

Bankroll sizing

Ideal size still comes from hit rate / style. Before every buy, Tail caps it to what the wallet can afford:

• Live — free SOL = trading wallet balance
• Paper — free SOL = PAPER_BANKROLL_SOL minus open paper risk
• reserve — SOL kept for fees/rent (default 0.05)
• bankroll — max share of free SOL per trade (default 25%)
• minbuy — skip if afforded size is below this (default 0.02)

When Pump creator fees are claimed into the wallet, available SOL rises and subsequent buys can size up automatically under the same caps.

Milestone alerts

Organic Tail scans (not Phanes-imported rows) post updates when ATH FDV crosses milestones: 3×, 5×, 10×, 15×, 25×, 50×, 100×, … each rung once.

If Tail holds the mint, the alert includes a position line (mode, multiple, PnL, remaining %).

Toggle: /set alerts off or /set alerts on (admins).

Cuts & treasury

On a fully closed winning position, Tail accrues cut% of profit (default 10%) to that trade’s callers, weighted toward earliest and lowest FDV credits.

• DM the bot: /payout <sol-address> to register or update your wallet (tied to Telegram user id + @username).
• No wallet yet → cut is held on the cut treasury (TREASURY_WALLET, else trading pubkey) until you register; /payout releases held rows.
• Group: /cuts · Admins: /treasury

Ledger statuses: paper / paper_held / owed / held. On-chain auto-pay is not required for tracking; held balances stay auditable until payout plumbing is enabled.

Cluster buys & re-scan

Cluster window

When a mint is bought, other groups have a short window (default 120s) to add size if they also qualify — each extra group adds a fraction of the first size (add, default 50%), capped by maxtrade and the hard max.

Re-scan

Pastes of an already-known mint can open a new entry after rescan minutes (default 45) if FDV has dipped enough vs the first scan (about 15%+), unless the caller is whitelisted (cooldown only). Live positions remain one open mint across chats.

Phanes import

Phanes has no public API for other bots. To seed history:

1. In the Phanes group: /elb 1mo (or similar period).
2. Download the Excel export.
3. A Tail admin uploads the .xlsx into the Tail chat.

The Calls sheet is stored for that chat. Rows attach to a Telegram user when their username matches and they next speak. Import can widen lookback to 31 days. Organic pastes also build the book without any import.

Commands

Pasting a mint without a command also triggers a scan.

Rules (/set)

Percents are whole numbers: /set sl 45 = 45% stop. Take-profit: /set tp 2:40,4:30 or /set tp off.

HARD_MAX_BUY_SOL in the environment hard-caps buy / maxbuy / maxtrade (default 2 SOL).

Live trading

Paper is default. Live requires server env:

Then an admin runs /mode live. Buys try Jupiter first (routes PumpSwap / Raydium / etc.), then PumpPortal / pumpdev with pool: auto for bonding-curve names Jupiter can’t route. Sells follow the same fallback.

Creator fees: admins run /claim, or the fee loop claims on an interval into the trading wallet so bankroll sizing can grow.

Public book

The Tail site shows a masked public book: open positions, callers, groups, journal, scorecard, and the fee-flywheel animation. Names are partially blocked. The bot in Telegram can stay quiet about internals while the site documents the system.

FAQ

Is Tail a Phanes or Rick clone?

No. Same problem space (Telegram calls), different product: Tail auto-trades by rules and runs a fee → cut → burn loop. Phanes/Rick stay for research and pure leaderboards.

Why doesn’t Tail read Phanes /lb automatically?

Phanes blocks other bots. Export /elb Excel and upload it, or let organic pastes warm the book.

Do I need a payout wallet?

Only to receive cuts. Without one, your share is held in the cut treasury until you DM /payout.

Can Tail lose money?

Yes. Stops, stalls, and rugs happen. Paper mode is for proving the rules before live size.

What chains?

Solana only for now. Non-Solana pastes are ignored.
